Goal

The Federation of Asian Indian Associations (FIA) Ohio aims to create a platform where Ohioans can come together in a fun and exciting atmosphere to appreciate the diverse contributions of Asian Indians to the state. The primary objectives include:

  • Promoting Cultural Diversity: Achieve wide recognition for the contributions of Asian Indians through their professional, religious, cultural, social, educational, and civic engagements.

  • Cultural Experience: Provide an opportunity for Ohio citizens to experience Asian Indian culture, enjoy Indian cuisine, explore shopping options, and witness the richness of Indian heritage.

  • Community Awareness: Increase awareness of Indian culture and heritage to promote peace, harmony, and understanding through education.

The India Festival, hosted annually by FIA, plays a vital role in creating awareness about Indian culture, contributing to Ohio’s cultural diversity. This unique event brings the splendor of Asian Indian culture, along with Indian entertainment, to central Ohio. The India Festival attracts the largest gathering of the Indian community, drawing attendees from Ohio and surrounding states. The event is immensely popular among locals in Columbus and the surrounding areas, attracting college students, professionals, health experts, vendors, artists, entertainers, and people with an interest in Indian culture.

The festival offers an excellent opportunity for businesses to showcase their products and services to a diverse audience. Over the years, its popularity and reach have continued to grow, thanks to the efforts of the organizing team in providing high-quality entertainment and value to sponsors.

The festival showcases a range of traditional Indian folk dances, Bollywood performances, and entertainment by local kids, students, and international professional artists. Additionally, it features an Indian shopping bazaar offering ethnic clothes, jewelry, artwork, and cuisine. A free Health Fair, art gallery, and an area for educational and travel information are also included, enhancing the festival’s appeal.
